The Power of Video: Part 1

Using Video as Part of Your Content Marketing Strategy

Content marketing should play a vital role in your overall marketing strategy. The actual content can be a variety of things: photos, infographics, text, and video. Many of us have become visual learners over the last several years, and we can thank the internet and social media for that. We were already bombarded by information and advertisements before social media, but now it's saturating our every day lives even more.

It's true that our attention spans are slipping away. For us to sit down and read an article takes time, dedication and a lot of concentration! Is textual content lost? Absolutely not. But what we can do as businesses to help capture our audience's attention is to break up the text with images and videos. Create an image that relates to the text, or even use a graphical image. Infographics are a great way to show stats and data in a visual format. It allows you to say what you need to in a image.

Video on the other hand can be an even more powerful tool. Especially for those topics are more difficult to explain through text, or if you really want your message to tug at the heart strings. Video marketing also adds a level of personality you may not otherwise be able to communicate through text or a photo.

How Klimb Creative Used Video

I worked with an incredible team at Cold Box Films for my first video of Klimb Creative. My goal for the video was be able to show (some) of my personality. I wanted my clients and potential clients to meet the face behind the business. I also wanted my audience to actually hear what Klimb Creative offers. Could I have used text? Yes. In fact I already did on my website! But this video adds to it, and compliments what I already have in place. I can also use this video on my social networks, at speaking engagements and in many other areas.

Cold Box Films brought a great deal of expertise, ideas and humor to the process. As much as I love talking with people, talking to a camera was a bit different and nerve-racking! But it was only a matter of time before Cooper and Tracey got me laughing and forgetting about the camera all together. They did an incredible job producing the video and I couldn't be more pleased with the final product.

(drum roll please.....)
